The Delta Institute recently published a new Brochure that I am pleased to share with you. The brochure cover shows exactly where Delta's work lies, at the intersection of the Environment and the Economy. The primary message of the brochure is to give an overview of our organization’s goals that we will meet by 2020:

  • Reduce carbon emissions by 12 million tons by forging unique partnerships, enacting climate change programs, and promoting energy efficient practices.

  • Achieve green ratings for 100 buildings and develop 200 sustainability programs for businesses and government.

  • Generate $250 million in investments for pollution prevention, remediation and reuse.

  • Create 50 cutting-edge sustainable models for community economic development.

  • Make green choices a part of mainstream thinking, fueling transformation to the green economy.

These goals will guide Delta’s work for the next decade to create, fund and implement programs that promote a healthy environment, a strong economy and thriving, vibrant communities. We see many new areas for opportunity in the Great Lakes Region in the emerging Green Economy and hope you will join us in meeting our goals. We can’t do this alone and are looking to work with diverse partners from across the Great Lakes Region to blaze a trail for the ‘green economy’ together.
