Wyllys Mann has joined Delta as Director of the Green Business Development Center, recently launched to support green entrepreneurs and provide resources, technical assistance and hands-on sustainability consulting for business and industry. With a background in green building, affordable housing development and an MBA in entrepreneurial finance, Mann will help green and greening businesses make economically, environmentally and socially sound choices about their business operations, their buildings, their products and their supply chains.
Mann previously was a project manager at East Lake Development, where he was responsible for the development of the Washington Park SRO, a LEED Gold supportive service housing facility. You can reach Wyllys at wmann@delta-institute.org.
Deborah Popely has joined Delta as an Associate Director to help develop the organization’s sustainability training and education programs and to assist clients of the Green Business Development Center. Deb has more than 25 years experience as a marketing and management consultant for service businesses, nonprofits and public agencies. For the past five years, she has provided sustainability consulting, procurement guidance and green marketing and event services as founder and principal of Green2b/Green2C Marketing and Green Events Source. Editor and publisher of The Green Events Source Book, she is also a frequent workshop presenter, seminar leader and university lecturer on sustainable business topics. Meegan Czop joined the Delta Institute’s non-profit affiliate, the ReBuilding Exchange, in February as the new Business Manager. Meegan brings many years of experience in salvaging building materials, carpentry, building construction, design and fine art to the job.
Whether it is building sets for the Oprah show or raised vegetable beds in a community garden, Meegan is the go-to person for all sorts of creative reuse projects. Salvador Nevarez joined the ReBuilding Exchange in February as well, as the ReBuilding Exchange’s Operations Manager. A resident of Brighton Park, Sal has been working in the community for many years and brings community organizing, construction and warehousing experience to the ReBuilding Exchange’s day-to-day operations. Sal acts as a liaison to teens in the neighborhood through his previous role with the organization Cease Fire, teaching them job skills in this growing sector, and facilitates on-going dialogue with partner community organizations to expand the reach of our mission.
