Standard Register Featured in CDP 2012 Supply Chain Report

Delta's client, Standard Register Corporation, was featured in the just-released 2012 Carbon Disclosure Project Supply Chain Report. The annual publication highlights businesses for their efforts to measure and manage carbon emissions in their supply chain.  Last year, Delta helped Standard Register earn a CDP score of 91 out of 100, qualifying it as in the top 5% of reporting companies. Delta Awards Three Green Apps $2,500

Delta Institute has awarded $2,500 to three innovative apps in the first-ever Green Opportunities App Award in the Apps 4 MetroChicago Apps Contest.  The winners are: Chicago Recycle Helper and Recycle City Chicago (tied for First Prize and splitting $2,000) and Light Bulb Finder, earning a runner up prize of $500.  Read more about them and download the apps.

Brownfield Redevelopment Branches Out Across Michigan

Delta Institute recently received funding from the U.S. Forest Service for a project that will combine environmental clean-up efforts with community and economic development.  The program will establish poplar tree farms in several communities in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula for the joint purpose of cleansing brownfields and providing a lightweight, rapidly renewable, locally grown resource for businesses and manufacturers. 

New Program Aims to Help Homeowners Get "Little Bills" for Energy

Delta is partnering with Energy Impact Illinois to provide low-interest loans to help area residents make energy-saving improvements to their homes. The program is an innovative way to reduce the barrier for investing in energy conservation measures, with the goal of helping reduce overall energy usage and saving money for individuals, businesses governmental units and nonprofits.

Delta Helps High Rise Earn Chicago's First Multifamily LEED EB Certification

Delta and its partners Envise and Green Advisors recently achieved LEED for Existing Building Certification for Waterton’s One East Delaware residential high rise.  One East Delaware is a 306 unit residential high rise with over 350 residents. This is the first residential high rise in Chicago to be certified under LEED for existing buildings, and is the third largest community in the country to earn this certification. As a result of the team’s efforts, One East Delaware expects to see significantly reduced operating costs, reduced environmental impact of building operations, and a cleaner, greener environment for its residents.
