Tom Cushing, Senior Advisor at Delta Institute, presented Delta’s publication, Energy Efficiency and Cook County Manufacturers: An Unrealized Opportunity, at the 2013 Automation Conference and talks with Automation World Executive Editor Aaron Hand about the environmental and economic benefits of energy efficiency improvements and some of the barriers to implementation that Delta has identified through its work.

Building Materials Reuse Association Recognizes Elise Zelechowski

Elise Zelechowski, executive director of Delta’s affiliate social venture Rebuilding Exchange, accepted The Chestnut Mantle award for excellence in building materials reuse (BMR) industry service. The award, which recognized Elise’s innovative work in promoting deconstruction and materials reuse including her recent TEDx talk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rL-UsLxQM3U), was presented at the Building Materials Reuse Association (BMRA) Decon ’13 Conference in Seattle, WA. 

DNA Info covers Mayoral announcement of greater energy efficiency ambition for Chicago buildings

Mayor Rahm Emanuel has announced the launch of round three of the Chicago Green Office Challenge. The Challenge has achieved major cuts in energy, water, waste and greenhouse gas emissions, in previous years, and this year goals are even higher.
